Had a few ski tour thoughts in mind, but as the forecast got worse toward the weekend I decided to shift to hiking somewhere on the dry edge. WTA's map of hikes helped me spatially sort the options, and this seemed about right.
The directions from Ragman and Rodman's trip report worked well, including making it easy enough to confirm we were at the trailhead.
We had a few brief showers during the day - the kind whose wetness dried right out w/in minutes, though they seemed to make the colors just a bit brighter. Or maybe that was the play of light and shadow from the passing clouds. Whatever - it turned out to be a very pretty day up there. And a perfect temperature for cruising out in the great wide open.
