Anyone know a source for freeze dried black tea? Tea that has been steeped then freeze or spray dried so it can be reconstituted instantly with hot water. No waste made or time spent waiting for tea to steep. I've been a long time tea in bag user, then loose tea with strainer, but I'm looking for something even more convenient. The closest thing I've found is made in Seattle by Three Tree Tea Company, but it's just fine ground black tea not free dried so still leaves stuff in your cup.

If you're up for green tea, you could use matcha. Sorry, I've never seen the equivalent in black tea.

Costco has its own brand of green tea in individually wrapped plastic sleeves. Takes only a few minutes to steep. For something different, you could try the Douglas Fir tips tea (Pacific Northwest made) at http://juniperridge.com/products/douglas-fir-spring-tip-tea one of the links at http://supplies.cabinporn.com/

http://www.minimus.biz/Serengeti-Tea-Company-Ticolino-High-Tea-Blend-F20-2244803-0100.aspx While not entirely instant, this is fun. Anyhow, it does exist: http://www.liptontea.com/product/detail/141502/unsweetened-iced-tea-mix Look for it in the tea aisle. Make sure you get the unsweetened!

I was given a can of this for a gift. Blue Lotus Chai
I've only tried the Star Anise and it's actually very good. The more you use the spicier it is. Ingredients: Naturally brewed and flash-dried black tea powder; 100% Certified Organic powdered spices: ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, star anise.

That does look good.. if you go the lipton route you might want to avoid the Lipton lemon flavored tea. It has enough free glutamate in it to give me a migraine. The plain one without lemon flavor should be ok though.

I have the roiboos chai and like it. With plenty of "milk".
