He is a jazz legend, a joyful man with a sophisticated yet earthy sound all his own. You may have never heard of him, but he influenced much of the music you hear.

Oh yes I have heard of Horace Silver. One of the greats of the jazz revolution in the 50s and 60s. His tune "Song for my Father" is one I return to over and over. Horace Silver, 85, Master of Earthy Jazz, Is Dead
