World Cup 2014, who will win it all? Copa del Mundo de 2014, que va a ganar todo? Weltmeisterschaft 2014, der wird es alles zu gewinnen? cheers.gif

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

I just hope to heck it isn't decided with penalty kicks. What a lame way to decide such important games. Like if the super bowl were to be decided by a field goal kicking contest if it was tied at the end.

Sudden death extra time where each team has to remove a player from the field every 5 minutes. Of course it would favor some teams over others, but any extra time system (including penalties or hockey-style infinite sudden death overtime) is going to introduce some sort of bias.

Though German born, I must support Argentina. My wife, who is from Buenos Aires, would have it no other way.

I'm rooting for Argentina, because: 1) The GF was born there 2) If they beat Germany, it will be a helluva game 3) A friend at my local pub drew them in the bar pool, and if he's celebrating, I'll likely get a few free beers I imagine Germany is going to destroy them, though. I'll be ok with the Germans winning, cause then I can somewhat argue that the US was then 2nd best team in the World Cup. --Gray

I'm not up on football but isn't it decided on first-to-score where the team to have first possession has a huge chance of winning? That's almost as lame, but yeah penalty kicks are terrible. I voted Germany, Messi is good, but it takes a whole team to take the finals and I think Germany has more of that than Argentina. Hoping I get to catch it though, traveling back from Eastern WA on Sunday. frown.gif

It's been changed slightly. If the team that gets the ball first does NOT score a touchdown (i.e. only a field goal), then the other team gets the ball and a chance to do something. On the first possession only a touchdown (or defensive score) actually ends the game. Keeps it initially from at lest being a field goal contest. Granted after each team has the ball once, it becomes sudden death regardless but hey each team had a shot, and if the first team on defense can't prevent the other team from marching down and scoring a touchdown, well they probably deserve to lose. While it isn't perfect it is better than the old way, or penalty kicks for soccer (which you may as well just flip a coin for).

Germany wins 2:1, they lead 2:0 at the half. Messi scores in the 84th minute to slow down the celebration in Berlin. But in the end, a team full of all-stars beats a team with one superstar and a cast of unknowns - Like Lebron in Cleveland...

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.
