Just a little reminder...it's this weekend, July 8, 9 and 10.

Don’t forgot about the Lip Sync contest and the poorly maintained rusty carnival rides…..

Thanks for the warning, we're headed to Gold Bar on Sunday afternoon. Guess we're leaving early.

Came back from Leavenworth today early just to beat that mess. Left Leavenworth at 1030, caught the backup of traffic just west of the round-a-bout. Took about an extra 30 minutes to get through Sultan and Monroe. Not too bad, but kind of insane for that much traffic at noon. I shudder to think what it looks like now.

We went to Leavenworth on Saturday and didn't know about the shindig. We left a couple hours later than we wanted to and that got us nice and stuck for about 45min from Monroe to Sultan. Just after the turn to the shindig traffic was pretty clear and only slowed for stoplights. Coming back had almost no traffic because we left Leavenworth about 6pm and stopped at the rest area to feed the babies.

It's that time again...there is a parade Saturday morning which will severely impact both eastbound and westbound traffic on Highway 2 in Sultan. Best to pass through Sultan before 9am, or earlier. The rest of the day expect gridlock between Monroe and Sultan. (What else is new, right?)

There are some peripheral activities on Sunday as well, but the eastbound morning traffic shouldn't be too bad if you go early. Once the clock strikes 11am though, the westbound stream begins to back up and as most Highway 2 travelers know, the rest of the day is a nightmare.

%$#@ I wish I would've seen this before heading out on highway 2 yesterday. I hit this a year or two ago as well.
30 minute delay eastbound at 10:30am (google said 20 minutes). On the return trip, google was saying a 40 minute delay, but luckily I was prepared and skirted around most the city.
I didn't see this on the WSDOT website, but they have multiple messages about highway 2 construction this week. Why didn't they post this? Did Sultan even look at better traffic management, or do they even care? A sheriff blocked a turn lane but was just sitting there with his hands on his hips - there was no attempt to manage traffic whatsoever.
I think I'm finished driving that road on weekends in the summers. All of those speed bump towns, along with Monroe forcing you to stop at every stoplight (they're not synched), makes the trip painful. Then you always get someone driving 40mph when the limit is 55pmh and refusing to pull over at a pull-out even though there are 10 cars piled up behind them.
I am trying really hard to suppress how much I hate the towns on highway 2...

Really? What time did you come back? I left Stevens Pass at 6:45pm and made it to downtown Edmonds in 95 mins.

It's backed up east of MP-32 (before Gold Bar) right now.

Went thru the construction zone yesterday afternoon. Was stopped a couple times heading east then on the way back west was stopped 2 more times for grinding and lane painting.
