Should GORP be banned on trails and beaches (help cleanup America!) |
Yes, it really should be banned. In fact why has it taken this long? |

Should GORP be banned? Good old raisins and peanuts are littering trails and beaches everywhere. Why do people need food for energy anyhow when there is solar energy available during most hours that people hike?

It's my right as an American citizen to litter gorp where ever I damn well please. I'll buy a barrel of root beer and dump it all over the trail just to show you how American I am. I don't want anyone walking in the woods to think they might be in a pristine wilderness by not seeing evidence of my GORP litter. You haters of GORP eaters can go stuff yourselves on cigarette butts.

There we go! Cigarette butts will now be part of my GORP recipe.

Well, maybe traditional GORP, but homemade gorp with fancy stuff is awesome!

well... peanuts, not being indigenous to the Pacific Northwest, should have been extirpated long ago, but I think an EA at minimum might be in order.

Usually if a carless hiker drops a peanut, or a raisin, a chipmunk or a bird will eat the peanut or raisin before a hiker has a chance to trip over it. Because of this, I think this poll addresses a question that is largely rhetorical. Maybe there should be a poll on if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, does it make a sound? That question needs to be answered for once and for all.

Last i checked people weren't throwing chewed and processed second hand gorp in my face.
I have no sympathy for smokers. I don't hike for miles to put up with breathing someone's toxic smoke.
If I can be banned as a cyclist because I bug someone, smokers can be banned for bugging me. The gorp is a straw man argument if ever there was one.

I think banana peels should be banned.

I will only begin my crusade against GORP once I have successfully gotten Mountain House to stop producing the culinary monstrosity that is Granola with Milk and Blueberries. That crap tastes like reconstituted cardboard.
