The village of Mawsynram, claiming to have the highest average rainfall on Earth. Perched atop a ridge in the Khasi Hills of India's northeast, the village receives 467 inches of rain per year - thirteen times that of Seattle.

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

The snowiest places on Earth: http://www.wunderground.com/blog/weatherhistorian/where-does-the-deepest-snow-on-earth-accumulate I'll go with Mt. Silverthrone in the BC Coast Range. 20 mile near tidewater glacier yet only about 150 miles from Vancouver and just a little over 10,000' in elevation. I flew over that area a few years ago in a friend's Cessna and was duly impressed by two mile wide glaciers and entire basins full of ice nearly to the brims.
