What if they could make something like this extremely light weight?

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

The ultimate thermarest! You could camp in those soggy spring meadows before the summer dries them out. But it's probably impossible to get the required structure without significant weight. Lightweight tent poles only have to hold up fabric and the fly helps with rigidity in the wind. This cot tent starts out at 56! pounds.

It would also have the same weakness as a hammock and need significant bottom insulation, thus increasing the weight.

I've been doing a lot of river rafting camping and the big beaches are a challenge when it comes to sleeping gear and sand management. A short cot, (what a strange word), seems to be a workable solution and weight is no problem on a big raft. Tom
