Awesome awesome awesome.
One of these days I have to get back up there, if just to explore Middle Lakes etc. But with the toddler, it might be a while before I can get away for a 5 day trip again...

Looks like a beautiful tour. Glad the sabatoge didn't send you packing.

Down the road quite a few years for you, but the family of 4 I encountered at Whatcom Camp was maybe around a 12 year old daughter and 10 year old son. They came up from Ross Lake and were heading out Copper Ridge, more than a week long trip. Something for you to look forward to maybe.

I'm nothing if not stubborn. The partially cruddy weather didn't deter me either, although once I was at Indian Creek I was close enough to being in the middle that it didn't make much sense to bail out.

Thanks for the encouragement. For now, my boy LOVES hiking and the outdoors. If that holds, then I am really excited to take him out for long trips when he's around that age.
I am also blessed with having free babysitting in the area (my parents), which has enabled us to get away for a couple short trips. But five days ain't happening.

Thanks for the link! Hopefully someday when the kids are out of the house, responsibilities are less of a burden and time is an option, I will do the NWT; it looks amazing. A nice alternative to the too busy PCT.

Very nice TR and pictures. Congrats on spending 5 days in such a wonderful area. The Eiley-Wiley ridge top shows well in your photos - that camp and the one up higher on Challenger Arm are indescribably beautiful in sun AND stormy weather. I haven't yet camped at Middle Lakes, but after hearing your description . . .

Thanks for the compliments. Everything up there was beautiful, I'm sure there are all kinds of good places to camp. I ran into 2 different parties that were raving about Easy Ridge. One guy said the West Ridge of Whatcom from there is a great route, he's done it something like 5 or 6 years in a row he likes it so much.
