A cairn as been spotted on Mars. It is believed to have been placed there by a hiker ascending Mt. Sharp.

The cairn is probably there so that Curiosity can find it's way back.

It looks kind of strange...
...so it must be martians or it could be a squatch.

How the heck can we get there to kick it? Maybe an email to the control team and they can nip over and give it a shove.

It could just be an oddly shaped rock formation, but I prefer to believe that it is the weather vane of a buried martian building! It looks a little strange to be a cairn, and if was a cairn wouldn't the rover have spotted others nearby? I suppose some anti-cairn Martians might have come along and knocked the rest over........

Possibly not. He may have kicked a cairn so hard that it escaped the Earth's gravitational pull and landed on Mars. That it landed intact would be a little unusual but then considering that Mars is unusual (I mean it's made out of Tang, which is what the astronauts will drink if they go there), then it is not completely unusual.
By my calculations, if a cairn were kicked off of the top of Mt. Si, it would escape the Earth's gravity easily.

Speaking of Mars and Curiosity, I thought the scene showing the Mars rover throwing out the first pitch during the latest episode of "The Big Bang Theory" was hilarious. Win one for science! Lose one for baseball fans!
