And holiday food isn't that good? Dang, what horrible place did you grow up in?

Tortierre for christmas. Now I love me some tortierre, it is delish, but it is simply pork pie and on the whole, nothing absolutely earth shatteringly good. It is not filet mignon prime rib or even a really good salmon
but it was the ritual, the anticipation, the smell. it was the event of the pies shipped on the train from Grammie. That is what took it from pork onion and bread crumb in a crust ( oh and allspice) to something you have waited all year for.
Candy corn, yes I like it and yes I still try to cap my teeth with the yellow part. That is what makes it great

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

Oh come on I like Jolly Ranchers on a long slog to suck on to keep my mouth moist. I am referring to the the small round ones. And the water tastes better coming out of the bladder with one in your mouth

Oh cinnamon Jolly Ranchers !
and Root Beer Barrels still seek them out in candy dishes
orange and black jelly beans. You just have to have them at this time of year

The bad candies, such as Twizzlers and Dots did not make the poll, and rightfully so.
When I was little, there was a house up at the corner that would give each kid a box of Cracker Jacks. Totally awesome!
