You got that right! Two competing stations, one a Chevron, across the street from each other. The Chevron is always 10 cents higher, always!
But it's getting down there. Should be interesting to see how low but I'm not making any more predictions.

so if the proposal to start a "pay per mile" tax ( and drop the gas tax) goes through, how much will the price fall?
If I remember correctly, we have some of the highest taxes on gas in the country
I paid 249 on South Hill ( puyallup) wednesday

$2.49 or $2.499? Remember that little numeral nine!

State tax currently 0.375%. Fed portion stays.
Department of Revenue
About 9 cents on $2.49.

Within my lifetime, I drove my '58 chevy pickup around on gas at $.259 a gallon.
Of course I was earning money doing house painting at $.75 an hour at that time.....

In 1970 I was paying 35¢/gal to fill my '59 beetle and making 5+ bucks/hr. A lot of people would like that ratio now. Especially when this anomaly runs its course.

And I've heard now that prices have dropped (temporarily), the feds are looking at raising that percentage.

As a kid I remember gas wars back in the late 60's early 70's $0.29.9.
This would have been in Louisiana.
Today I paid like $2.33 at Fred Meyer in Kent but that was with a 20 cent discount.

Don't know for sure, but I filled up for $2.29 tonite in Olympia.
That's good for my short-term finances, but long term, I'm better off when the prices are up.
When I left Oregon for North Dakota in 1970, I think I paid about $0.19/gal. But then I was only making $1/hr.

That price is very low, but you do have a longer drive to the trailhead.
