Mount Rose (Olympics/Hoodsport area) is close to home and good exercise so she is a good choice when we want to stay closer to home. Although her views aren't as stunning as others in the area. We encountered some blow downs from the recent wind storm but we were able to drag most of them off the trail. Two large blow downs at 4100 feet will require a saw for removal. Tree across the trail right at the summit (which made for a nice place to hang up our packs ) No snow. We sat at the summit and watched the puffy clouds blow in and out. Nice quiet day on the mountain. Total miles: 5.84 Total elevation gain: 3600 feet
