Beautiful pictures! Keep them coming. I'm struggling to figure out what to add here.

Joker, I agree with Gali. That is what distinguishes your and Pat's shots. Planning before dark and composing with an interesting foreground, then shooting in the twilight so you get both stars and distinguishable mountains is magic (and hard to execute).

I like the color in many larch and sky photos I took this year better, but I think this is my best shot of the year. Very unusual lighting plus good composition with just the right timing.

silver lake as seen from just below devils tongue. it was an incredibly perfect last summer weekend that capped off a really amazing hiking season. just when i thought there would be no topping two of our previous trips earlier in the year (ruth & icy / olympus), this one came in and dethroned 'em. this is the best view of the best lake in the state and it was nearly glassed over for us.

I did all day hikes last summer, so I didnt get any real good light for pics. I liked this one from the snow lake trip I took my nephew on.

I love those lake shots guys, both are glassy smooth. That view of silver is classic Iron, and I love looking into the depths on yours BPJoe.

Memorable because I took my youngest son to one my favorite destinations. Just a Panasonic point and shoot, but can't go wrong with such a cooperative subject. biggrin.gif

Bear reflection. My favorite because running across wild bears is why the Olympic Park is my favorite place to hike. This guy followed us around in the 7 Lakes basin for most of an afternoon. Every time I turned around there he was. In this shot he was drinking and making a really loud slurping noise. My avatar photo is me swimming in this very same tarn from a trip a few years earlier.

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

I could pick a dozen favorites from my Paria Canyon Hike. But I'll settle for this one:
Absolutely the most photogenic hike I've ever done!

fairweather friend, that's a great shot - esp. in B&W - looks like a giant Antelope Canyon. The hiker lends it needed scale and the rock formations and light lead you into the picture. up.gif up.gif

Yeah, that's a cool one FWF. There's some interesting positive-negative space sort of tension going on in it to - takes a moment to get a fix on the dark edge.
