Has anyone had a problem with Vimeo? I create a movie in imovie and put it to music and upload to Vimeo. I have not had a problem until now and everything I upload is being denied. Even a movie that uses the same song that I used in a previous movie. Is U Tube a better way to go?

Youtube is pretty good, I don't have any experience with Vimeo.

Youtube will not let you use copyrighted music in your videos. At least they never did for me which is why I went to Vimeo. If Vimeo is now doing the same thing, that's a bummer.

I think I fixed the issue by selecting privacy options that dont allow others to download my "movie". I certainly don't want to break any copyright laws. Some people on this site post TRs with vimeo and use background music and if I recall correctly they use mainstream songs probbaly downloaded from iTunes?

Vimeo started using copyright match earlier this year. I had to flip back to Youtube because of this. Like Bedivere I flipped to Vimeo years ago because of the same issue with Youtube, which now seems to allow my videos - go figure.
Interesting comment about your 'fix', I'll have to try that because I much prefer Vimeo. Thanks!

Rather than try to circumvent copyright, why not just use some of the music options available to you through Vimeo?
There's a Music Store under the Create option at the top of the page. Lot's of Creative Commons licensed music available to use. Download your track and credit it. Pretty much what I do for all my videos on Vimeo.

Scole, thanks for the suggestion. I'll try and do that. All I need is some music, any music really, to accompany my imovie content. Looks like both vimeo and utube have pretty stong filters in place that must have happened very recently as I didn't have this kind of trouble before.

I read a little while back that by slightly changing the music in a program such as Audacity (free and open source) you can foil Youtube's copyright software, it probably works for Vimeo too.
