I thought I'd give an update the Lowe Creek Road (Road 6030) conditions since we encountered changes that we didn't know about. There is a closed gate on Lowe Creek Road at the Money Creek bridge, which is a bit over a mile from Highway 2. The Lowe Creek Road now has a bridge over Lowe Creek, so there is no need to ford/jump the creek at the washout. We ended up with six miles (round-trip) of unexpected road walking. Three unavoidable miles due to the gate. And three miles because we thought the washout at Lowe Creek would be obvious and we walked right past it. Other than that, Palmer Mountain via the east ridge went nicely.
