A topic I haven't heard about for awhile. How's your car, truck or SUV?

up.gif slept in ours many times. One drawback - no latch on the back door to open from the inside

My '99 Toyota 4-Runner sleeps me very well also. I bought it for car camping, etc back in '98.

I slept many a night in my old Explorer when I had it. Good times lol.gif Been driving a Town & Country minivan since 2010. Hot & sexy? No. But it does have three TV's and and tons of room (mine has Stow & Go seats in middle row, so it is flat).

2010 Ford Escape, fits me well at 5' 10"...prob good up to about 6' 2".

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

When we bought our 4Runner that was a major consideration, folks looked oddly at use when we tested it out in Bellevue. Only used it a couple times though fogs up the windows. hockeygrin.gif

Like any what's the best thread, it's whatever the responder owns. lol.gif I currently own a Honda CRV and a Subaru Outback. Honestly I've never slept in either vehicle so I can't say.. I suspect the Outback might be a bit better.... lol.gif

I have an Outback now, Xterra before that. The Xterra slept 2 confortably. The Outback would probably be a bit more snug for 2, I've only slept back there by myself. The Xterra had much better headroom for sitting up when in-car camping. The key is to put some screen material over your windows and roll them down.

Our outback's rear seats don't lay down flat so you won't have a flat bed back there. To me that's a dealbreaker for sleeping, but some folks don't seem to mind. So just to be contrary, my car sucks for sleeping wink.gif.

It should lay down flat if you take the bottom seat section out by unlatching and removing - storing. Put it back when needed. That's what I would do with my 88 Nissan Maxima wagon. Most of those Japanese cars seem to look and work the same.

Diesel Jetta waggon. I'm 5'10 i can lay down in the back with room to spare and it gets 50+ miles per gallon. Only disadvantage is it can't go down the worst forest service roads.
