Duke is Duke. They're on TV more than Leave it to Beaver reruns.

Well said, FiveNines, we listen to the same program. As for Duke, I can't stand watching their coach whine incessantly at the refs. I'd appreciate their wins more if that guy weren't such a grind all the time, acting as if his team were such victims. Ick.

Yeah, like Bo Ryan doesn't emote whenever a call goes against Wisconsin. shakehead.gif Your team lost because it got outplayed down the stretch. Deal with it. Message to Duke haters: Letting go of the Duke hate will set you free. Start by watching 30 for 30: I Hate Christian Laettner

Nah. Hawks were terribly unlucky. The play call wouldn't be an issue but for Jeremy Lane's broken arm in 1Q. Brady's 4Q heroics were all about picking on Tharold Simon. Had Lane been in there, Hawks would have been ahead by 2 TDs. But history is written by the victors, so the myth will be all about Pretty Boy Poser being all that and a bag o' chips. So it goes in sport

blaming a loss on injury is a cop out
Observing an obvious fact is not blaming. Anybody who watched the SB and failed to see that Brady's 4Q success was largely the result of Simon's failure to cover hasn't played much football. Belichick and Brady were smart to exploit that weakness. Not blaming anyone here. Just stating the facts.

Are you attempting to make a point? confused.gif I gave due credit to Brady and Belichick for being smart to exploit the obvious weakness of the Hawks D. Daryl tried to hang an "excuse" on me, but he was wrong about that and I corrected him. Exploiting weakness of the opponent is part of sport. Mike K did a pretty damn good job of it Monday night. Pats won the game. Hawks lost the game. I accepted that the moment it happened. I certainly didn't blame the refs. That's your game, not mine. Maybe you didn't read my initial post in this thread: I rooted for the Badgers on Monday night cuz I grew up a Big Ten fan, but I always root first and foremost for a good game. SB was a great game, will go down in SB history as one of the best NFL championship games ever. Likewise, Monday's NCAA championship game was a great game. That they were great games matters more than who won or lost.

A single out-of-bounds call decided a 5-point game? dizzy.gif

two of them. that's a potential of a 12 point swing if you know how to do math.

cool. change the subject, but go for the last word. nice lawyer trick, buddy smile.gif in addition to the two WRONG calls regarding in/out of bounds, somehow the rules of what a charge is in basketball changed. for example, did you know it was okay for an offensive player to leap INTO a defensive player who is standing vertical, squared up to the offensive player, and not moving his feet or hands? me neither. on most planets, those are charges. all of these are momentum shifters. don't deny that. i know you like to argue endlessly, but you have to accept that "fact"

All you guys are all screwed up! The Kentucky game was the robbery! 38 and 0 and they lose because of the refs! HELLO!

I watched that program, and it did nothing to dispel my distaste for Duke basketball. Bo Ryan is definitely a whiner, probably more so than Coach K. K is more of a screamer and scowler.
