What an amazing, wonderful, talented human being. I first saw him play in 1978, at a huge tavern space out on Aurora, forget what that place was called. Sat at a table right in front, about 5 feet from the stage, right in front of BB King. Great band, all old guys, full horn section. Been a blues fan ever since...

I was thinking Rainbow, so I looked it up... nope, nope the Rainbow was the place next to the Blue Moon on 45th. Saw the Ramones play there in '78...

BB King fans will enjoy this article in JSTOR Daily. It includes clips of him playing and a video tribute to his playing and style by a NY Times reporter: http://daily.jstor.org/two-poems-b-b-king/
