Upon realizing they had made a potentially grave error, they made the correct evaluation based on their predicament, experience, and equipment on hand. By stopping where they were, calling for help, and waiting for the help, they avoided compounding their situation. None were hurt, SAR had an easy extraction, and all are doing something else today at no expense to the general fund.
