Wonder how grandpa feels. Parents thought he was watching. He thought the boy was with his parents.
But the little ones can skedaddle quicker than you can say "boo".
Hope he's found safe.

My theory is that a cougar nabbed the kid. Idaho has a heck of a lot of wildlife. Everyone in the front country is aware of the cat dangers. So, I was interested to read this this morning (below). It's been a few days and now they will bring in the dogs to help with the search. Well, better late than never.

On Monday night this subject and others will be covered on the nightly radio show Coast to Coast. Many people disappear out in the woods, what happened to them?

There was a case years ago on Whidbey Island where a family was hiking along North Beach and one of 2 twin boys disappeared. They never found him, nor any trace of him. No body washed up. It was a freaky one. They were in the middle of a highly used park and he vanished. Family had been on vacation from I think Texas and eventually had to go home.
A horrid thing indeed.

when the story first broke the report was that the parents immediately assumed kidnap
which, to me, is the least likely thought I would have
I agree, feels just a bit odd
wander off yes
animal attack, perhaps
kidnap...in the wilderness...?

Years ago there was a cougar attack in AZ where a cougar pulled a child from inside a tent and luckily the adults stopped it before it got away with the child.
Hope he is found safe!

The case near Ayers Rock in which a family did lose their infant daughter to a dingo is beyond sad.
That they were wrongly jailed only made horribleness worse.
