Those look like after tax dollars. Places like NY, NJ, and CA have high tax rates on top of higher prices!!! But lots of big bucks jobs in those locations.
If only I could move to MS and maintain my current wage. But then I'd be living in MS. I guess everything has a price...
Everyone's situation is different, but it worked out well for me for a year.
The difference in living costs alone wouldn't be worth it for just one year. That's the kind of thing you have to commit to long term to make a 16% reduction in living expenses with no increase in income worth it. If I could live in MS for a year and double my income I'd do it.
