Does anyone know how to find weather data going back more than 7 days for the various weather stations (Snotel, HADS, RAWS, APRSWXNET/CWOP, etc) monitored by NOAA? Here is a link to one in particular that I would be interested in finding daily readings going back 30 days-90days-and 1 year: http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/getobext.php?wfo=otx&sid=BRMI1&num=168&raw=0&dbn=m

Well, it's easy to get 30 days. Edit the URL; were it says "&num=168", make that "&num=720". "num" is the number of hours in the report (24*30=720). However, 720 seems to be the maximum allowed. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/getobext.php?wfo=otx&sid=BRMI1&num=720&raw=0&dbn=m I'd also be interested in a source that goes back further.

Cool trick, thanks Snowday! Yes, hopefully a way to go further back will be revealed by someone!

Perhaps this? http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/data-access I've not explored it having just found it based on this thread.

I'd be interested in finding data for either/or historic 500mb heights and Quillayute freezing level archival data. They have been sending up radiosondes since I don't know when. I believe that to be the best way of proving changes in climate as surface temperatures reflect wind direction, low level thermal troughs, etc. It is my recollection that in the 70's and early 80's 500 mb heights here never got into the mid 5900 m range (I think I recall 5910 m). I used to look at charts at UW Atmospheric sciences long before they were available in digital form. Here we have reached 5940 m to 5970 m a few times lately and 6000 m has been touched nationally. I've also followed Quillayute freezing levels since the time of Raymond Merritt Ramsey on KOMO. I remember at one point (don't recall when) the highest freezing level I had ever heard of to that point in time was 15400' or 15800'. In the heatwave of 2009 it reached 17400' and has numerous times since then reached 16000' to 16500'.

You can try https://weatherspark.com for most cities. or http://www.wrcc.dri.edu/climsum.html For records in the western states.
