This is quite an interesting look at the Berlin Olympics of 1936. Riefenstahl, Nazi propaganda filmmaker, tried to portray the Olympics as artistic expression.
The film used very interesting camera angles to document the Olympics, providing coverage we wouldn't see today. The diving sequences towards the end were particularly unique.
Among the features is the 1936 eight man crew triumph of "The boys in the boat".
JSTOR article contributors question to what degree this film was about propaganda. Clearly, there is a cinematic focus on strength, perfection, and even militaristic strength.
