Hi all, I'm spending the next couple of weeks on vacation in Washington specifically for some hiking (frequent flier miles finally pay off).
I was looking to do an overnight at Wing Lake on Friday, potentially climbing up Black Peak either on Friday or Saturday if the weather is decent enough (I saw rain in the forecast on Saturday on MF, but it's still a ways away).
I hike at a fairly moderate pace, definitely not fast but also not terribly slow either. I do have a DSLR and tripod though as I really enjoy photography, but I usually only take them out at camp and near the peak.
I was looking for a hiking partner, so if you have any interest in joining me, just shoot me a message!
edit: I'm obviously new on this site so don't have a post history, but I'd be happy to chat with you over Facebook, Skype, etc. if you want to get to know me

Schedule Thur-Fri if you can. Serious rain on the weekend.

Thanks. Flying into Seattle on Thurs. morning, so I could conceivably do Thurs-Fri if I've got a partner.
My schedule is VERY flexible since I'll be here for almost three weeks, and my list of hikes isn't too long

Partner or no. get your car and go for it. They'll be other people up there too.

My only concern is that my flight lands at 10:30am at SEA. I'll have all my gear set to go and need to pick up my rental car. At best, I might be at the trailhead by 3. Would it be realistic for me to make it to Wing Lake before sundown?
I may save it until next week or try a day hike on Friday, which is definitely doable for me

Well, it's about 5 miles to Wing Lk. ~2½-3hrs including the slow going through the boulder field so it's doable. edit: don't attempt the boulder field unless you have enough daylight
Or car camp and dayhike like you say.

Check out meetup.com if you have THAT much time on your hands. Hikes all the time, and the occasional backpacking trip.

Oh and hunting season is about to get into full swing here, might be worth hanging an orange safety vest off your pack while hiking the area.

If you're hike goes through this area you can avoid hunters until the highway is snowed in:
