Interesting, Eric. I enjoy your reports and detailed instructions on visiting the sites of former lookouts. Speaking of that, yesterday I drove to the the site of the old Deming Lookout (hadn't been back to it since shortly after the building was destroyed about 30 years ago). The road is usually gated a bit past the Mt. Baker Winery but is open now, I suppose for deer season. There is about 6-8 inches of powder snow on top but the road is in good condition. I may go back today to take some pictures and more specific road directions to post.
