Highbush cranberry jelly. The berries smell like old sweat socks but the jelly....so very tasty!

Due to the company we will be spending the holiday with, we're doing gluten-free, vegan, soy-free Thanksgiving. I'm not sure what I'll be eating. If anything. LOL Lucky for me, none of the restrictions rule out vodka. souse.gif

I doubt I will be partaking in any of these varieties of heritage corn

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

those sweet potato biscuits sound amazing. I bet they would be good for breakfast with maple syrup
They reheat very well in the toaster oven. Sweet Potato Biscuits Source: Susan Costner's " Good Friends, Great Dinners" 2 medium sweet potatoes, baked, peeled, and mashed 1/4 cup dark brown sugar 3 cups all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp mace 1/2 tsp. grd nutmeg lemon zest of one lemon 1 cup unsalted butter softened 1/4 cup buttermilk Preheat oven to 450° F. In blender or food processor, puree sweet potatoes with sugar until smooth In bowl, sift together all dry ingredients. By hand or in a food processor, cut in butter until mixture resembles a coarse meal. Add sweet potato mix, and milk, mix until just blended. Gather dough into a ball, turn out onto lightly floured surface, knead two or 3 times. Flatten to a thickness of about 3/4". Cut biscuits, prick tops with fork, arrange 1/2" apart on cookie sheet ungreased. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
