Wiki Says: "During the Renaissance, vanity was invariably represented as a naked woman, sometimes seated or reclining on a couch. She attends to her hair with comb and mirror. The mirror is sometimes held by a demon"

That story is easy to pan, but I took a similar more realistic lesson from the death of an experienced hiker on the Aasgard pass trail. He had reportedly walked off the trail to get a photo of a waterfall, took it, then slipped in a moment of lapsed concentration returning to the trail. The story hit home because it could have happened to me as I also sometimes maneuver into awkward spots for a better photo. Now in those situations I make sure I finish putting my camera away and reset before doing anything else.

Why poke fun at a dead person? And they don't even say it was a camera, or that he was taking a picture at all. This is not "photography talk". shakehead.gif This should be in the "schadenfreude" forum.

#1. His mother said in article: "His mother, Sharyle Burwell, says in a Facebook post that he died while taking pictures." #2. No poking fun here. It's dangerous around cliffs.

Some video to show the cliff. I watch my footing around a cliff. Personally, that's just where my eye is.. "Last year, a grad student fell to her death in the same area while posing for a photo." http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/12/28/san-diego-cliff-death-victim/77969662/

If memory serves, something similar has happened twice on Rattlesnake Ledge in recent years; lack of situational awareness is epidemic.

If not now, when?

But it's sort of like high stakes clicker training. Isn't it ? 😱
