Ten bucks, zero crowds, wild turkeys, good variety, down home friendly folks. My wife and I went out for the day on a lark and it was a winner. They need more visitors and they deserve a look. Three loops of varying difficulty and a snow shoe only trail too!

Thanks for the Plains report. An article in AAA magazine of all places got me curious about this new (to me) groomed xc location.

Ditto. Only been there once, during the summer, and it was beautiful. Think I'll be visiting to do some xc skiing.

The only easy day was yesterday...

They have a 12k long flat course that runs thru woods and farm land with just a bit of topog. The beginners area is a big flat meadow of 2.5k and the intermediate-advanced course is 2.25 that features "challenging terrain" and views.

The Lake Wenatchee area actually has around 45K of groomed trails at four different sno parks.

You can car camp at the south enterance of the state park (The entrance near the Nason Creek forest campground & Kahler Glen Golf course) near the swimming area beach parking lot. Also, the FS Recreaction Report states you can camp at some of the national forest campgrounds in the area even they are closed for the season. Just bring your own water and toilet paper.
