If you are possibly interested in doing an 8 day trek in Banff this summer, please contact me. I am planning to due about 60 miles, running north from Lake Louise-Deception Pass - Skoki Valley - Pipestone Pass - Siffleur Wilderness - Kootenay Plains Ecological Reserve/Siffleur Falls.
I am planning on going the first week of August.
Unfortunately, this is not a "for sure" thing. I am planning on going but my wife is pregnant and due the end of August. So, if the baby is early or there are complications, I will not be able to go.
Please contact me if you are interested in joining me and can tolerate the uncertainty that I may end up not being able to go.
If you have any thoughts, ideas or tips, I'd love to hear those, too.
Thanks!
I advise looking over Parks Canada. They open, restrict, and close trails based on grizzly activity. Sometimes restricted (yellow?) trails are regulated as to party size. Parks Canada believes bigger parties are safer. The southern Rockies parks used four persons I believe. A few years ago Jasper was using seven as minimum on some trails.
Numbers might be different now. I'd see what current regs are.
