The stunts this guy pulls off in this video are pretty astounding, not to mention incredibly dangerous! Candice Thovex has won numerous freestyle skiing medals, set several world records, and is an award winning filmmaker to boot. His other videos on Youtube are definitely worth checking out.

That was rather unbelievable. eek.gif Especially going through those tunnels and tight woods. Still processing what I just saw--some of it seemed so happenstance and spontaneous versus choreographed. Then I kept seeing the bits and streams of snow leading ever downward. The ending was truly a deus ex machina finale. ~z

That is the third film by Candide Thovex -- the guy is an amazing athlete -- while the film is presented in a way to make it feel like a spur of the moment run -- its clear that every aspect is meticulously planned and staged.
Quote:
Candide Thovex was born 22 May 1982 in Annecy, in the Haute-Savoie area of France, and grew up in the village of La Clusaz. He learned to ski at age 2 in the Aravis region of the French Alps. As a 4-year old, he began building little jumps behind his house, and at 5 he joined the local ski club where he developed a passion for mogul skiing. He was 14 when he won his first French National Junior Championships in the mogul division.

Loved the shot with his tails dragging a wake across the glacial pool. Busting through the window was pretty good too. Candide is an amazing skier and that doesn't even really describe him.
