That's pretty cool. How far can it fly? I could imagine a use for pre-hike air reconnaissance.

Direct line of sight and no interference around? - Couple miles out easily. The capabilities of these new 'copters is amazing.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting that. I'd love to explore some area this way but I'm afraid it would be a big time and money sink as I crash the first couple of units while learning.

Didn't notice anything at Gold or Squaw. McFarland runs through my dads place and it was clear and normal yesterday at the bottom. I don't know about now as it poured again last night.

Anyone headed into the Methow Friday afternoon, from the South, should plan accordingly.
From Okanogan County Emergency Management:
SR 153 UPDATE: WSDOT has advised that the one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic on SR 153 MP-5 near the flood-damaged area will continue until the morning of Friday, March 11th. The roadway will then be closed to allow removal of the temporary culverts and placement of a much larger culvert.
Motorists using SR 153 in that area should plan to pass through the area no later than 7:15 am on Friday. The roadway will be closed directly after the Pateros School District buses travel back through the area transporting kids to school.
WSDOT hopes to have the roadway reopened by early evening the same day, Friday, March 11th. The preferred DETOUR is SR 20 over the Loup Loup Pass.

On one hand, I find the whole idea of drones creepy.
On the other hand, I find footage like this fascinating.
Thanks for posting that.
