Facebook post popped up saying ....
"These 30 Beautiful Places In The U.S Will Make It Hard To Believe They Actually Exist!'
I had to check, figuring WA must surely be representing in that group.
Where would they pick? Somewhere on Rainier, maybe North Cascades? So many to choose from.
Mt Si?
WTF?
And a skagit bulb farm.
Not even sure the photo is from Mt Si.
If this is a repeat topic, feel free to skip it.

LOL clickbait is so stupid. Stuff like this has made me curious if there's any money to be made as the creator of such content. Not talking about the websites themselves but the people who actually write/create such ridiculous content.

You're looking at a box of eggs and wondering if the hen makes any money.
I don't think there's much creativity involved but owning, or at least selling, a content farm can be pretty lucrative.

It looks to me like one of the views from Little Si, but I'm not all that confident in my guess.

Mt. Si.. What a laugh..
That isn't even a good picture. I could look through almost any group of hiking pictures I have taken going anywhere and find a better picture than that.
Who comes up with this stuff?
Not someone from around here.
They probably heard the pacific NW was beautiful and Mt. Si was the only thing they knew.. But one would seriously think Mt. Rainier at least come to mind first..

Looking at their choices in general, and the mediocre photography, I think "poor clickbait" probably sums it up.
It does seem to be one of the finest examples of minimal effort put into clickbait that I have ever seen though.
I have seen some "amazing places" photos that really are amazing.
This was not one of them.....

Just smile and nod and remember that these kind of articles help keep the tourons and french armatures away from the good stuff.

Wow, I've been to one of the most beautiful places in the US twice this winter! I've got to check out the Bonneville Salt Flats this July.

I agree with your Mt Si sentiment, but...

The Skagit tulip fields are fantastic. You don't realize just how cool they are, until you move to the east coast and realize they have nothing similar (or at least within an 8hr driving distance of me).

That's a great analogy I haven't heard before. Thanks!

Familiarity breeds so much contempt. Actually, the view of alpenglow on Mt. Si from the West is breathtaking.
But that picture? Good grief. Blah and anomalous. It could be anywhere.
Now that I think of it, maybe it was meant as a joke?

But compared to many dozens of other alpine vistas in Washington, it's hard to justify it's inclusion on any such list. Unless it was a joke as you suggest.
