I have started blogging about the food I take while hiking/backpacking, mostly paleo/primal and it's all designed to be eaten without a stove (although you most certainly can).

http://www.musthikemusteat.com/

I also wrote a post on the places I like to eat before/after hikes in WA and OR that are paleo/alternate diet friendly.

http://www.musthikemusteat.com/must-hike-must-eat/

I hope you enjoy them!

Your dehydrated cole slaw recipe looks good.

I'm always looking for ways to add some more vegetables.

Thanks!

Still plugging along with the paleo (gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, etc.) recipes.  Always looking for feedback and suggestions!  Managed to eliminate the last grain (rice) this summer with additions of some African diet mainstays.

These are great, thanks for posting! I'll definitely be using some of your recipes on future trips, as my backpacking food is often sorely lacking in nutrition.

@JeffreyH

You are very welcome!  And I'm glad to hear you love the chocolate granola.  I have to be careful off season not to indulge too much.  I made so much this summer (and then had to cancel several trips) I'm still working on what I have left!  It's addicting.   smile.gif
