Thanks for sharing that link. They started hosting tours before it was finished - I remember going up to the observation deck in 1962 when it was only half complete.
I knew someone who was involved in construction, not design, supervision of Needle and Monorail.
It was interesting to listen to Garvin talk about series of measures, all compromises, intended to provide a very smooth ride in the face of dynamic deflection of the beam supported sections vs rigid support at the columns.
