Ok, for whatever reason in the last few years Ive developed insomnia. Sometimes I cant fall asleep. Even if I can fall asleep I always wake up 4-5 hours later. I dont get it. Nothing helps or works. Only prescription sleep meds make any difference and who wants to rely on those? Well, I found something that works, and isnt drugs. Its called thed Fisher Wallace Simulator. http://www.fisherwallace.com/ Its been working great. I use it at 11m and at 11pm. So far its helping me fall asleep, and helping me stay that way. It isnt cheap, but I dont care. If it helps me sleep Im there.

Why don't you try exercise. I ride my bike an hour after work each day, about 18 miles total, and have no trouble sleeping. Before, I had sleep problems like you describe. An hour in the gym should do the same thing. Plus you get the health, weight loss and endorphin benefits. up.gif

You are of course presupposing that I haven't tried that! Nothing up until now has worked. I hope this continues.

If it works, it works. Even a placebo can be a powerful thing.

You probably could rewire the Zircon to do the same thing. Step up the voltage of a 9V and deliver pulses whenever a stud comes around...wait, what the hell are we doing again?

...wait...are we just going to hang here or go hiking?

Anyone work nights during the week and then try bouncing back to day schedule on weekends? This past weekend I couldn't get to sleep at all to even try to get back to the day schedule. It's like my clock was all messed up. I had to choose being tired all day or getting the 7-8 I almost always need. Sleep won but I missed out on all the sun. Bummer. Usually I fall asleep within 15 minutes. Not this weekend. Maybe I should have tried night hiking? Anyone up for that? lol.gif Off to work....

Backpacker Joe I hope this works for you. I have bouts of insomnia that I haven't been successful in eliminating so I'll be watching for your reports on how this works for you long term. I did a bit of looking on line for information about the Fisher Wallace Stimulator and came up with two articles that seem to treat the device fairly. One is on the Scientific American site. Look in the article under the heading "Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation." Another article is mentioned in the Scientific American piece titled "Fisher Wallace Stimulator: Too Good to be True?" The URL for that is: http://horgansciseminar.blogspot.com/2015/02/fisher-wallace-stimulator-too-good-to.html. Unfortunately in my pursuit of medical knowledge I often come across treatments and devices that turn out to be bogus so I find that the best sources of information are reliable journals and narratives from people I know (or know of). Best wishes for continuing positive results for you.
