^ Yeah. An amazing talent. Quite sad to see him taper off and now to see him go so young.

39 studio albums is a huge body of work, not to mention all the side projects he had.

Great artist! We've lost a few of them already in 2016. Bowie, Haggard, Frey. RIP

Musical genius. Brilliant songwriter. Astonishing virtuoso guitarist. Epic stylemaster. Wonderfully weird human chameleon. Was surprised to learn that he was a Jehovas Witness and went around knocking on people's doors. Apparently he converted to JW after a long conversation with Larry Graham; the worlds' greatest bass player.

ditto.gif I don't like to speak ill of the the dead, but I really didn't like his music at all.

I'm just now associating the music with him. I had always thought that the sound was Michael Jackson. Hmm, we were only five years apart in age but a world away..

If you had worked at writing pop music yourself, I think you might.

I meant no disrespect. Just never saw what other people seem to have. Nothing new there. People seem to think Mike Jackson was all the rage too! Not me.

ditto.gif again. No disrespect; Prince/Jackson's music just isn't for me, and I have a hard time seeing what other people see in it.

As I understand it, he died suddenly. They are doing an autopsy as we speak. I hope nothing nefarious was involved.

Nothing personal against the man but I have to agree pretty much although I did like some of Michael Jackson's music. Prince's music didn't do anything for me personally. I don't own any of his music catalog. I suspect though he influenced many other artists some of who I probably do like to listen to. Never a good thing to lose anybody and it has been a bad year for musicians it seems. I suspect some of this is just due to the fact that a lot of them are getting into that age (70+) where things start happening health wise. Granted Prince was not in that age yet. I actually saw Prince in concert in the mid 80's in the Tacoma Dome. Friend/co worker ended up with an extra ticket after his date bailed so I went for free.... It was a good show but the music itself for the most part just wasn't my thing.
