Hi there, I will be in town for work and would like to do an overnight trip to Hidden Lake Lookout in the Northern Cascades May 21-22
I am an experienced hiker from New England, mainly hiking in the White Mountains. I have full winter gear - which looks like it will be necessary
I was initially planning a day hike but the photos from this recent trip report make an overnight look incredible!

~10 miles, 4,000 ft elevation gain
I am easygoing, moderate paced. Let me know if you're interested
Thanks,
Brianna
it is unlikely you'll need full on snow gear, but travel in consolidated spring snow should be expected. i believe the weather is supposed to turn cooler this upcoming week FYI. a warm sleeping bag, of course.

since you're shooting for a weekend, i would be prepared to either share the lookout or sleep outside. also, there is steep snow getting to the lookout this time of year.

At this date, expect to be on snow from 4200' and up. The trail will disappear at some point in a gully under snow. Find a traverse out of the gully. Depending on route, some steep snow here. The way is straightforward (with good visibility) from there to the notch below the lookout. The trail and route at this point crosses a steepish bowl with slope angles to 40 degrees to the SE ridge below the summit.
