I missed the sale last weekend. I wanted a Garmin HRM-SWIM for a trip to Ross Lake, and intended to use the 20% off coupon on one. Couldn't find it on their website the last day of the sale and I didn't want to go to the crowded store. So I missed out. I stopped at the store yesterday on my way home from work - it was empty the day after a sale - and they let me use the 20% coupon even though it had expired. Thanks, REI.

In the past electronic devices were excluded from REI 20% coupons. Has that changed?

They have a list of what they exclude somewhere, it's probably harder to find now that the sale isn't on. As far as I know, GPS has never been part of the 20% sale, but electronics have been fair game otherwise. I got my power meter with a 20% coupon last spring. I was on time with that one, though, it's the fact that they bent the rules to make me happy after the sale ended, that has me impressed.

I got a $110 bivy sack from their clearance website for just $50 after the %20 off coupon and my $10 dividend from last year. I avoid shopping at REI unless there's a sale on, but when there is you can save a bundle!
