Bummer frown.gif I only stopped in once but that milkshake was good after a long hike. They do have another locale in Cashmere.

Really sad to see it go. It was long a favorite stop. The milkshakes were a requirement after a hike.

The milkshakes were definitely something that I looked forward to after running around in the hills.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost

Damn! We've celebrated after some good trips there. I hope the Squirrel Tree improves its menu.

The Honeycomb Lodge at Lake Wenatchee (Kahler Glen golf course) is close by. This is from their website: - We are a pub style/blackboard menu eatery, supporting small and local businesses with clean, quality ingredients. - Our burgers and meatballs are made from organic beef and pork raised on the Oberg Brothers Farm (Tonasket WA) - Icicle Brewing Co (Leavenworth WA) and Iron Horse Brewery (Ellensburg WA) - beer on draft. - Piccola Cellars (North Bend WA) - wine on tap.

There may be alternatives but there's nothing like the 59er Diner! frown.gif I seriously hope they had insurance to rebuild. We loved stopping there for burgers and milkshakes. Even when the place was hoppin' the staff was great and the time passed quickly with the great music!

The year of my High School graduation. ..... I did recognize the music. lol.gif It's been through several owners, but they mostly managed to take over without feeling any irresistible need to improve.

Something lost behind the ranges. Lost and waiting for you....... Go and find it. Go!

If you are saying what I think you are saying I tend to agree. I have stopped in there a few times over the past 20 years, mainly for a hearty hot breakfast after a cold night of camping out somewhere around the area. It's pretty hard to screw up ham, eggs & hash browns.
