Couldn't have asked for better weather or beach conditions from Rialto to Ozette. Hiked from Rialto to Cedar Creek - then to Yellow Banks - then to Ozette where I was picked up and shuttled back to Rialto. I saw many eagles but no whales or larger marine life.
Note to all - remember to monitor the overnight high tides and / or always keep in mind the highest of the 24 hour tides and plan camp accordingly (thus moving my tent at 1am'sih).
Here are the pics from the trip: http://www.protrails.com/gallery/697
And here's my write up / GPS et al - pretty detailed so you might enjoy the read: http://www.protrails.com/trail/836
And if you want to go aerial (zoom in / out and hover over the coordinates): http://www.protrails.com/trail/836/olympic-national-park-rialto-to-ozette-thru-hike/Trail_Map
Enjoy and I can't recommend this route highly enough!
Dave

nice shot of the golden eagle. I hiked Shi Shi to Rialto a few weeks ago, we got buzzed by one just overhead, pretty cool! We did see whale spouts, sea otters and sea lions around Cape Alava.

Thanks! Nice on the wildlife! I thought I might see some marine stuff but alas, not this time.

Cool to see photos of Washington so different than the mountains.
We saw a beautiful mature golden eagle on the Twisp River Rd a couple of weeks ago--I'd never seen one before. Best wildlife sighting of the year so far.

I agree that is fun to see pictures, especially excellent ones such as presented here, of places that are not our beloved mountains.
Cartman, I bet you have seen more golden eagles in your far-ranging wanderings. They are pretty common in our mountains, and like to cruise quite low above the ground in subalpine meadows and rocky glens ready to nail sun-basking marmots and ground squirrels. Be looking, they are cool.
