Foist, I forgot to ask about that I should have because Troublesome Creek is so beautiful to visit, and of course I know you take your family camping there!

North Crest Connector Trail, aka North Crest Cutoff
Connects Scorpion Mtn - Kelley Cr Trail - N side of Captain Pt - then eastward through forested-ridge-terrain to Valhalla Mtn and PCT.
Woody-brush-severing tools advised.
Plenty of blazes and a few white & green enameled USFS signs remain.

OK, so that's not even an inventoried trail. 3 years of road closure won't make any of the N Fk trail disappear as this North Crest has done; it's been abandoned for a very long time. Cool to know it has folks working on it though! Thank YOU Nancyaan & Wolffie for that!
