I used a syncing program to copy my hiking photos from my PC's hard drive to an external drive. When I plugged the external drive into my laptop, I was surprised that some of the files were blocked due to security restrictions and I couldn't find a way around these. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of making a backup! I guess just copying the files to the external drive would work, but I like the functionality of syncing in case I make some edits on the external drive or the hard drive. I have Window 7 Home Premium on both my systems. Maybe I'm going about this all wrong. Any suggestions?
