Hey group! Two friends and I are hiking the Wonderland trail from the 19th to the 28th and are trying to find any type of transportation from Seattle to Mt. Rainier on the 18th of August.
This question has been posted before, but there still does not seem to be any clarity to how to get to the park without renting a car. Does anyone have any tips here?
Since we are all from out of state, we don't want to rent and pay for an unattended car for 8 -10 days. We are definitely willing to pay whoever can take us. We are looking to go to Longmire, Mowich, or Sunrise. Any location that's easiest works for us!
A little about us: we're all 25-30 years old and hike all over the U.S. We just finished a five day Yosemite trip and this is our next adventure. If you need some pics, I post most of my shots here.
Thanks y'all! If anyone will be on the trail during that time, let me know - I'd love to connect with fellow hikers from the beautiful PNW.
Check the International Mountain Guides web site for suggestions for getting to MRNP to help you decide on the economic feasibility of renting a car. Renting of course gives you the most flexibility getting to and from your trailhead. Note the ideas from IMG are for travel costs to Ashford only.
I'll do it. $90 ea way. I have a TDi wagon and can carry all of your gear.
It's a good excuse for me to ski Muir both days.
of note: I drive for Lyft (avg 80 rides/week) and maintain a 4.9 rating
