Hottest day of the year in Wenatchee. My birthday the day before. Both sounded like reasons to get out of town into the mountains. Most of my friends had already climbed Seven Fingered Jack (7FJ), so it looked like the perfect time to knock this one off my to-do list.
Although it is 9100' and WA's 12th highest peak, it is a fairly simple climb. I used nwhiker Gipfelsturmer's trip report and it worked great.

The last few miles on the Chiwawa river road are pretty rough/rocky. There is one short stretch of the Phelps Creek road that is bad, with lots of tire-flattening rocks. There are plenty of cars at the trailhead however, so it can be done. I'd just take it slow and easy.
Trip took about 11 hours, which included my break times. Bugs are out in force. Round trip was about 13 miles, and I gained about 5800' in total elevation. Beers at Icicle Brewery in Leavenworth finished the day before I returned to the oven known as Wenatchee.

I went up Maude via Carne last Saturday, wonderful views in the area and nice to see it so lush (though the Buck creek fire smoke was visibible when I left in the afternoon).
