Having returned from canyon lake north of glacier peak, the wife and I had a leisurely lunch on the sundeck of a local restaurant. Afterward, a walk along the bluff in grand park in Everett. We observed 81 people focused on their phones, 7 others without. 4 babies and 3 adults. Spoke with the other couple about the sunset and the Pokemon zombies. There maybe hope as I overheard one mother instructioning her 2 young boys to keep to the right on the sidewalk as the boys, focused on the phones almost ran into another equally oblivious zombie. I doubt any one of these folks ever bothered to take in the beauty of the sunset on a pleasant summer evening.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost

People have been missing out on the beauty around them since before cell phones looked like this:
At least with Pokemon Go -- there is the opportunity to look up and see something besides the living room walls and players are doing something healthier than denting the sofa.

Get off my lawn! wink.gif Gotta agree with RH, at least they're outside using the Park for something other than shooting up. And ya know, preoccupation with what others are doing.... paranoid.gif lol.gif

At the last Great Big Extended Family Dinner, I counted 13 people, 11 of whom were phoned. Recent news item: pub owner in Britain or Ireland wallpapered his pub with aluminium(sic) foil, making a Faraday Cage, thereby foiling cell phone transmissions and forcing his customers to actually talk to each other. Imagine. Sadly, a friend of a friend ran in front of a van while phoned. Now paraplegic, blind, and asking for help ending their life. Really. {sorry for this downer, but it's a true story, and far from the only cell phone death I know about.}

Some people have better things to do with their lives than walking the dog. Some don't.

So these people were focused on their phones instead of the sunset and you were wasting your time worrying about what they were doing rather than enjoying the sunset?

well I'm not so sure about that one, until Pikachu starts commanding death to infidels.

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

If Pokemon Go gets people off their couches and out into the sunlight, I think that's a good thing.
