I discover evidence of an advance cairn building civilization. After careful consideration, I decide I’m not certified to take on such a complex toppling project, and move on.

Back on the trail again. I quickly encounter portable boom box guy, and tired dog hiker. It takes all kinds.
Things got really frantic. Started jumping in their panic. Hallucinating billions of ants. Lots of ants.
Cool traverse/loop. I was in the area a few days after you and got frequent views of Granite, Cradle etc. from across the valley. I saw that same ant hill at the beginning of my trip--impressive.
Great effort. Nice area to plan out some traverses. You can stand at upper Klonaqua looking due west and see the rugged beauty of that ridge. Back in the day when where was a well maintained trail into Leland Lake my wife and I made a base camp there and visited most of the lakes in that big basin east and north of Trico. I have always fantasized about getting back up there.
Nice addition to your original post. At the same time Leafguy and I went into Klonaqua Lakes last year MLHSN was going to be camped for a few days up on top of Granite Mt above Robin Lakes exploring the area. He told Leafguy he might drop down to go fishing and have coffee with us. We made few passing glances toward the near vertical wall above Upper Klonaqa Lake but were not surprised when he didn’t show up. That would be quite a drop and re-gain just to visit a couple of flatlanders like us.
