Took a day off and went to Easy Pass. What a perfect day. Easy Pass was too easy so I headed uphill from there northward up to the bump at around 7300. Awesome views. The larches were just about peaking, at least the big ones. Smaller ones still had some green, while the little baby ones were still almost all green.
OK, but I'm posting this because I need everyone's help. On the slopes north of the Pass, I found this cool jawbone. It still had the teeth in it. What is it?? Some kind of cat? A coyote? It's gotta be something carnivorous with that fang. My 4 y.o. son is going to LOVE this thing in the morning but I want to be able to tell him what it is.
Last week I found a skull looking very much like that in the western teanaway (between Solomon and Hardy). I didn't take a photo, but I assumed it was a marmot skull.
