Went out with Greg K., Martin S., Adam W., and Heather A. to do some easy peakbagging. As usual. We drove to a different spot, hiked a trail, did some cross country, got to the top…and had some of the same views. All I do with friends is drive to different locations to see the same views! Anyhoo. Round trip was 4.5 hours. Driving time? More. Parking was at the Top Lake trailhead. Huge parking area with no need for a trailhead parking pass at 3640 in elevation. Some minor snow…mostly above 5500 feet. Rain? Yes! When we arrived at the trailhead! Lots of mushrooms out! Hiking through the burned area up to Shoofly cross country was nice because of the lack of brush. Hiking up to Fall Mtn was nice because of a little path. Wish I knew the name of the mushrooms.
