WOW WOW WOW WHAT A SHOW! Madras opened its arms to visitors, threw a 3-day party. Scientists from the Lowell Observatory gave demonstrations and lectures, and let us look through some big serious telescopes Sunday night. Traffic yesterday PM was awful in spots, adding 2 hours to the drive from Madras to Eburg, but worth it X10,000. We plan to travel to the totality zone in 2024, hope to be joined by some of our 2017 eclipse friends.

If you want to go to Argentina or Chile, there is a total solar eclipse on Dec 14, 2020. Summer in Patagonia. https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/solar/2020-december-14

I'm aware of that but as a skier I don't go to summer during NH winter.

Nice time lapse. Always cracks me up to see the camera flashes.
I found out a lot of people used the flash to get selfies during the Totality. Otherwise all you got was a black shot or maybe a sillouette. My primary camera died a couple days before so I had to improvise with an old M4/3 body and couldn't really capture the effect. Fill flash might have been a good idea, although I only had about 30 seconds of totality to work with where I was located.
Taken through eclipse glasses with an old M4/3, handheld.

Well then the 2019 solar eclipse near latitude 30S in Chile is probably your best bet! Should be right on the horizon, so make sure you are up high.

If you are a rock climber, the Frey Valley is in the path of totality. World class rock climbing in a stunning location of granite spires. I expect there will be a crowd...
